Well, with a little online research, it turns out the name is quite ingenious. Think about it, we wondered for months what was being built behind the Waterford Lakes Town Center. Then the Firkin and Kegler coming soon sign appeared… Firkin and Kegler ??? What in the world is that ??? Didn’t it just stick in your head?
A firkin:
an Old English unit of measure equal to a quarter barrel.
A kegler: 
a participant in a bowling game

Alafaya Trail / Innovation Way is no longer set to be the longest dead end in East Orlando.
Right on the front page of the East Orlando Sun, the answer to our traffic dilemma in Avalon Park has been reached! Although the interchange has been delayed connecting Alafaya Trail and S.R. 528, a connecting road from Alafaya to an existing interchange will be complete by late summer 2009. The connecting roadway will be a 2 lane road and approximately 1 mile in length.

Another day, and another red light runner causing injuries in Orlando. Guess what? When it comes to traffic lights, even yellow means stop- NOT go faster.
I say- stick it to these manslaughter potentials. A committee on the Florida Senate says- Nah.
The bill to install cameras to detect and fine red light runners has passed a hurdle in the Senate, however, at what cost? Well, not so costly to the violators, that’s for sure.
$60 bucks a pop. Yeah that’ll teach ‘em. They won’t be able to afford Saturday night dinner out now.
What kind of punch does $60 give? Maybe the Senate should place the $200 fine for PARKING in a disabled spot on sale, too.
Good grief.
