Disney World’s Half Marathon to Benefit Children’s Cancer Research

September 26, 2008

East Orlando Life Readers- I am looking for your support! January 10th, my lovely cousin Jenn will be running her first marathon in order to help raise money for childhood cancer research. Any amount you could possibly donate to this worthy cause would be greatly appreciated. The link to Jenn’s donation page is in her letter below- Thanks!

Greetings Dear Family and Friends,
I am writing to ask for your support for a cause that is very important to me.  Some of you may know that I am going to be running in the Disney World Half Marathon on January 10th, on behalf of the Rally Foundation, which raises money for Childhood Cancer Research.
My goal is to increase funds that can help create a future without cancer.
My race is in honor of two very special people:  First Margaret, my Rally child, who a year ago in October was diagnosed with Leukemia.  She loves animals, rides horses and Irish Dances.  Next, I am running this race for my Brother-in-law Andrew, Lindsay’s Husband, who was just diagnosed with non-Hodgkin Lymphoma in August.  When I saw that I could run on my 35th Birthday weekend, at Andrew’s favorite place-Disney, I knew this must be God nudging me to take this challenge on.  (If you view my webpage you can see why this is a challenge!)
I have set my fundraising goal at $2900.00 and I would greatly appreciate any contribution you can make to help me attain my goal.  Your donation will be added to the critically important dollars that support meaningful childhood cancer research, education and awareness programs.  With your support we really can make a difference.
This year an estimated 66,120 men and women will be diagnosed with non-Hodgkin Lymphoma and 10,400 children (0-14 years old) will be diagnosed with pediatric cancer, according to the National Cancer Institute.  We know research is making a difference.  Lives are being saved through earlier detection, and more effective treatments are improving the quality of life for those who receive the diagnosis.

I would invite you to view my webpage at:
www.active.com/donate/rallyathletes/jennhayden to learn more about Margaret’s and my families’ stories and if it is in your means, to support me with your donation as well as with your prayers.
I thank you again for your support and prayers….
Love,
Jenn Nystedt-Hayden
