The Army Corps of Engineers is hosting an informational meeting with a question and answer period, tonight, Tuesday March 31^st, at 6:30pm. Current and upcoming bomb and rocket debris removal will be discussed involving the former Pinecastle Jeep Range located in Southeast Orlando. This meeting is a must-attend for residents of Vista Lakes, Tivoli Woods, and surrounding neighborhoods.

Corporate 5k to be Held at Lake Eola, Downtown Orlando, April 16th

Thanks for joining Betsy, me and our entire team at Track Shack in this year’s Corporate 5k Run presented by Insurance Office of America. We are excited with our new (former) venue of Lake Eola. We will have giant video screens, music and entertainment for your enjoyment. That’s right, not only is Corporate 5k the biggest and best 5k in Central Florida, it’s also the best office party. Did we mention the two Mich Ultra beverage stations?
Look for 500 teams and over 11,000 runners and walkers at the start line. The downtown skyline of Orlando is the backdrop of this evening of fun, fitness and camaraderie. Best of all you are supporting deserving organizations including: Parramore Kidz Zone, Track Shack Foundation, Christian Service Center and the Orlando Runners Club Scholarship Fund. How Strong is Your Pre-Approval Letter?

So you are beginning your search for your new home, but have you been armed with a proper pre-approval letter or is that paper just a prediction of an amount for which you could be approved?

To find out, ask yourself the following questions:

1. Has the FICO score been determined by obtaining a credit report at the lender’s office?
2. Have you completed and signed a credit application?
3. Have you provided proof of income and proof of assets?
4. Has verbal or written verification of employment been completed?
5. Has an automated approval(DU) been run?
6. Has the lender approved the loan? Are there conditions on the approval and have they been cleared?
7. How long ago was approval issued and does it have an expiration date?
8. What is the loan amount and maximum interest rate for the approval?

If the above questions can not be determined, you may just be in possession of a ‘prediction letter.’ In order to make the most well-informed offer on your next home, it is in your best interest to be properly pre-approved by a lender. This will save you tons of possible time and frustration down the line when you have found the home perfect for you.

Florida Driver’s License Emergency Contact

You can now go online and enter two (2) emergency contacts on your Florida Driver’s License (electronically) which can only be retrieved by a police officer.  This came about as a result of one woman’s teenage daughter being killed in a car accident and taking over 5 hours to locate the mother to inform her.  This way, if you are in an accident, the police can run your driver’s license and have your emergency info ASAP.

Snake in My Room!

We spent a large part of the day gardening on Sunday. We decided to ‘air out’ the house and open the windows and doors while we  enjoyed the outdoors.

I expect to encounter all sorts of critters while I’m out playing in the garden, however, the picture above is what I woke up to this morning- A Snake in My Room!

Needless to say, I did not require my usual 2 cups of morning coffee to completely wake up.

What kind of snake did I pick up and remove from the house (after 20 minutes of thought of how to safely accomplish this)? It was gold with red spots along the top.
