My Favorite Restaurant in East Orlando- Falafel Cafe

The absolute best gyro you will find in East Orlando is at Falafel Cafe! My husband and I have tried several items off the menu and have not been disappointed. The service has been outstanding- friendly and helpful. The prices are reasonable considering the huge portions and top quality. I can’t recommend enough that you give this restaurant a try!

Falafel Cafe is located across from the UCF campus at the corner of University and Alafaya Trail.

Time is Running Out for the 1st Time Home Buyer Tax Credit

The American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 which gives qualified 1st time home buyers a tax credit up to $8000 is currently scheduled to expire December 1st. Because many homes for sale in East Orlando are short sales (where the seller’s lender must approve your contract) time to ensure your tax credit it about over. Short sales, depending on the seller’s lender, generally take more than 90 days from contract to close. If the seller’s lender is Bank of America, formerly Countrywide, then forget it. Countrywide loans are months behind the approval process!

Once Congress is back in session, healthcare will probably be the priority on the agenda. But you can take the time now, to email your representative to let them know how you feel about extending or expanding the home buyer tax credit.

Discovery Space Shuttle Plans to Launch Early Friday Morning

NASA’s next attempt to launch Discovery will be about 12:22 a.m. Friday morning.

Amongst equipment onboard Discovery is the infamous COLBERT treadmill, named after one of my most favorite comedians- Stephen Colbert!

Wookiee and I had a nice morning at the Avalon Park Dog Park! We normally go to Peeple’s Dog Park but wanted to stick close to home in East Orlando this time. Avalon’s dog park is located just south of the Publix grocery complex.
