Waterford Lakes’ Lake Underhill Road – Resurfacing Begins Today
For those of you that use the portion of Lake Underhill between Waterford Chase and Alafaya Trail, you may want to consider an alternative route to and from work this week.
Repaving begins today, Monday November 23rd, so I suspect traffic along this cut-thru used by many from Avalon Park and areas off of East Colonial may be even a bigger nightmare than usual.

Army Corps of Engineers will Return to Odyssey Middle School in December

ORLANDO, Fla. — The Army Corps of Engineers will be returning to an Orlando middle school to search for World War II explosives that might be buried there.
The federal agency will inspect part of the Odyssey Middle School campus where 15 portable classrooms are being removed because of declining enrollment. Corps officials hadn’t been able to search that area with metal detectors and other bomb finding technology before.
More than 400 pounds of World War II-era bombs and munitions were unearthed from the grounds around the middle school over the winter holidays last year. Part of the school grounds had been used by the Army in the 1940s to train bombardiers for combat.
Munitions have also been found in backyards and construction sites.
The new search is scheduled to begin in December.

During the month of November, we will be having a raffle for a FREE turkey to be given away November 20th. In order to enter the raffle, simply attend an Open Play session from now until November 19th. Each time you bring your child to SliderZ for one of our Open Play sessions (Tuesday & Thursday – 10am-12pm; Wednesday – 3-5pm & 6-8pm) you will automatically be entered into our raffle, where someone will win a 20lb turkey! 3rd QUARTER REPORT: What’s My East Orlando Home Worth?
The graph above shows the sales price of 32828 single family homes by square footage from this year’s 3rd quarter sales period compared to the same period last year. Home values have dropped about 20%. We are still in a buyer’s market and will be for the remainder of 2009.
